Ryuu's eyes and hair are naturally red-brown in colour; the 2 bangs on either side of his head reach as far down as his neck. His main outfit consists of a plain dark red t-shirt, a pair of grey vintage jeans, red and white running shoes, white cut-off biker gloves, and his late-brother's Grey fur collar jacket and dog tags; the jacket possessing the kanji for Dragon on the back, and the words ZERO and BLADE on the tags. When going to school Ryuu will wear his basic school uniform, a white dress shirt, blue dress pants, and black dress shoes, coupled with his brother's Grey jacket in the winter. Ryuu always finds time after school to go and change back into his regular clothes, which he takes with him in his bag, before leaving his school. On a side note: Ryuu is usually recognized by others by either his trademark grape lolipop or his wooden toothpick which he always has in his mouth (never both at once).
Personality:
Usually, Ryuu is a kind and civilized individual. However, his mood also highly influences his personality from time to time. Ryuu is not the type of person who enjoys causing harm to others, rather, he is the type who would go out of his way to assist a person in need whether it be his business or not. This is not to say that Ryuu does not fight, if challenged or provoked Ryuu will take a crack at even Level Fives. With his reputation of fighting opponents above his own level, others wonder if it's out of bravery or stupidity. Aside from all this, Ryuu is VERY different in terms of school work as he is a very bright student, on paper at least. Ryuu knows how to answer questions and can complete test, quizzes, exams, and assignments without fail but he lacks the ability to display the fruits of his labour outside of the class room.

Abilities: Fire Power, Ryuu possesses the ability to start and manipulate fire around himself. However, even with this ability Ryuu cannot handle large flames, such as burning buildings and he has no power over chemical started fires either. Ryuu's fires are usually created in his hands and them thrown or tossed, however Ryuu can also shoot his flames from the tips of his fingers, and cover his arms with them with out being physically harmed - the same cannot be said for his clothing.

Since he was young, Ryuu always lived in the Orlando, Florida with his mother, his grand parents, and his older brother Zero. He never knew his father, but didn’t mind as he looked up to his brother who seemed to be the alpha male of the family. Ryuu’s friends consisted of the family dog, Joney, and Naomi Springfield, a girl of Japanese and British descent.
Ryuu loved manga, comics, anime, and video games, especially RPGs and often pretends that his life is an RPG. With this in mind, Ryuu would always look for ways to assist others in need and never turned down an offer to help the community, unless it meant doing something that was morally wrong. Ryuu’s dream was to be a fire fighter, which ironically was the opposite of the power he was born with.
At the age of nine, Ryuu first displayed his abilities when their family had a reunion to celebrate Zero’s acceptance into the United States Navy. Ryuu was happy for his brother that day and helped the adults with setting up the place and taking the food to the table. Little did anyone know that Ryuu’s twin step-cousins, Rai and Fu, were planning to sabotage the head chairs so that they would collapse when sat on. Naomi was lucky enough to catch on quick and told Ryuu. However the pair were unable to stop the twins from succeeding, and both Zero and their mother fell victim to the prank. Zero was left unhurt from the fall, however the sudden fall left their mother with a rather bad injury to the head and spine. Ryuu explained that the twins were responsible, however his aunt did not believe him as both were no older than 5. The blame then fell on Ryuu who received a punishment from his aunt. The anger he felt that night triggered the awakening of Ryuu’s powers, when he accidentally lit the entire backyard on fire.
From then on, Ryuu’s family labelled him a monster; however the twins were eventually caught when the attempted the same prank again in the same night. Only Naomi, Zero, his mother and grand parents knew what really happened and the remainder of the family simply cut off contact with them. Around that time, Zero gave Ryuu a chain necklace with 2 dog tags, one that read Zero and the other read Blade, as a symbol that they were connected by an unbreakable chain of brotherly love and friendship.
Regular School:
In regular school, Ryuu was an overall bright student when it came to written tests, quizzes, and assignments. He always scored in the high 70's, 80's and a few times in the 90's. His student records show that he has never skipped class and has only missed classes whenever he became sick. Shortly after his outburst at a family party, Ryuu almost did not go back to school as his mother feared his powers would awaken again, as was therefore home schooled for a short time until Ryuu managed to learn how to control his abilities.
Ryuu went to school in America and was often picked on for his intelligence. He did not let his bother him as his brother always taught him to ignore bullies and to stand up for himself in a non violent manner. His student record shows that Ryuu was only involved in one school fight, where he was simply defending Naomi from some of the older students. Even then Ryuu was not actually fighting back but rather he made himself a human shield for their attacks.
Transfer to Academy:
On a sad night, when Ryuu was 12, his fate was decided for him. His brother had gone out to deal with some local hoodlums who had been terrorizing an old woman whom Ryuu and Naomi knew very well. Usually, punks such as these would run from Zero whenever he was around, however this night was different. Ryuu had followed his brother this time to see him in action. A fight broke out between Zero and the 3 punks, 2 were disabled in mere moments. The last one however had a gun on him, which he aimed at Zero, who by then got out his own 9mm. 2 gun shots went off, the thug was dead on the spot as the bullet pierced his skull and brain, Zero was shot in the stomach area and fell to the ground.
Ryuu went to his brother to try and stop the bleeding, but Zero knew his time was up. Before he died, he left Zero with a message:
"Blade... That's how your name is supposed to be pronounced. It fits you well, for you are the sword of god... born to protect those who cannot protect themselves. Combined with the gift he gave you, the fire power.
Your power is not one of destruction like everyone thinks, yours it the power to guide others and shine a light on the path that lays hidden before them. But before you can do that Ryuu-chan, you must first become stronger. I... I sent a letter to a special school so they can teach you exactly what you need to learn how to use that power of yours. It's not... it's not near here. It is actually far, far away. Don't worry. I set it all up for you so that you won't be there alone. Grandma is going back there with you, and so is Naomi. Go and make us all proud of you. Don't cry... I'll be there with you... in your heart. Now... GO!"
A month after Zero’s death, Ryuu and his grandmother travelled to Japan where Ryuu was enlisted in a school within Academy city. Currently, Ryuu lives alone with Shiba puppy, named Dark, born from the family dog, Joney. He has not been in contact with Naomi at all, and visits his grandmother whenever he gets a vacation.

Ryuu wandered the streets of the city with Dark, his trusty Shiba pup close behind. The pair had been walking since 3:00pm and it was nearly curfew now. Ryuu payed no mind to his cell phone alarm, which periodically reminded him of how much time was left until curfew. Suddenly, Dark began to bark and growl loudly. Ryuu watched as Dark ran off and followed close behind him.
within seconds, Ryuu caught up with Dark and stumbled upon 2 students in the middle of a battle, if it could even be called a battle. From the look of things the older student, who was significantly larger, seemed to be bullying the other student, who was taking quite a beating and whose attacks seemed to be ineffective against the bully. Ryuu's blood began to boil, this was a classic scene he had seen maybe 10, 20 times before. He raised his right palm and aimed at the small space between the students. He was going to stop them with one shot.
"HEY! YOU TWO!" Ryuu called over. The boys froze for a moment and instantly took notice of the flames in Ryuu's palm. "I'll give you both 10 seconds to stop fighting and go your own ways." he warned.
The boys slowly moved away from one another before they broke into a run in opposite directions. Dark barked continuously until the boys faded from sight. Ryuu lowered his hand and the let the fire die out. He then crouched down to Dark and handed him a treat from his pocket. Dark happily ate the snack and licked Ryuu's hand. A smile came to Ryuu's face and he took out a lolipop from his coat with his free hand. Removing the wrapping, Ryuu inserted the candy into his mouth, rose back to full height and continued walking toward home.
